Box Filters

The most common type of filter, technology over the last twenty years have made them smaller and most now incorporate Ultra Violet lights. Box Filters offer a quick and easy filteration to ponds , but are gravity fed so need to be placed above the level of the pond so water can re enter the pond. If this is not practical due to pond design choose a pressurized model.

Pressurized Pond Filters

As the name suggests work under pressure. Can be placed anywhere between the pump and the return to the pond. Very good at taking small particles out of the water.

Advantages; Do not need gravity to return the water to the pond. Can be hidden from view.

Disadvantages; Work best on small ponds due to size of units. Need regular care , although newer models have user friendly features to make this very easy.

Maturing a new filter.
