Koi Nets

These are significantly different from other general pond nets.

Usually a pan shape head with little or no depth, this is to allow easy bowling of prized specimins.

Deep nets can sometimes allow fish to get entangled and damage scales , fins etc.

Mesh type is usually smooth in a hexamesh design.

Tips:  Choose a mesh size suitable to catch the smallest koi

• Better ones will have a protection around the net rim to minimise damage to the koi while catching
• Wooden handle ones allow easier retrieval if dropped in the pond
• Avoid chasing the fish around the pond as this will induce stress to the koi
• Allow for growth of your collection, Koi can easily reach 30” long.
